The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
The Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hadassah Medical Center prides itself on being a forerunner in the field. There are always ongoing studies and research carried out by staff members of our department, that include multiple fields and aim to further understand conditions, discover new methods of treatments and prevent development of illnesses. Research-derived products and services offered to companies are mainly from the field of embryonic stem cells. Few examples include:
- Development of New Strains of Human Embryonic Stem Cells for Future Transplant and existing lines.
- Development of New Lines of Human Embryonic Stem Cells from Embryos Diagnosed as Abnormal by Genetic diagnosis before implantation for research into diseases carried in the embryo and existing lines, in addition to development of innovative treatments for these diseases.
- Development of Human Embryonic Stem Cells for Transplant in Degenerative Diseases of the Nervous System and Retina (including Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS and Age-related macular degeneration (AMD))
